Baby moon? What is that? Well, I will share my unique baby moon vacation with you and why you should plan one.

Dre planned a special trip for us in November to Texas for our Baby-moon. So from my understanding, a baby moon is a “before becoming parents vacation”. This was a great time for us to be close before expecting our first child. By this time the Braxton Hicks were not as intense and the morning sickness subsided. The only problem I was having was not being able to consume as much food as my squashed stomach would allow.

Once we arrived in Texas, we rented a Mercedes-Benz from Turo and got an Airbnb at a beautiful ranch house 20 minutes from HoneyLand, Texas.

On our first day there we were excited to go to the HoneyLand 3-day festival. There were so many music artists there who were on my top 10 playlist.

We saw Summer Walker, Tems, and Lucky Daye perform while cuddled on a bench. It rained all 3 days of the music festival. So I suggest that you plan for the worst and the best weather during your trip.

The next day we ate at the Toasted Yoke for breakfast and headed to one of the places I’ve been dying to see – The National Museum of Funeral History. I have always been fascinated with death and how the evolution of embalming, casket-making, and funerals improved over time. We saw a casket made of money. It has over 600 dollars made into the casket. There was also a casket that was ordered for a family who was grieving for a deceased child. The couple told the funeral home to custom make a casket for the three of them because they were contemplating suicide and they wanted to be buried with the child. Long story short, they opted out and the funeral home donated it to the museum.

On the last day, we decided to go to the Downtown Aquarium. They have so many awesome exhibits but my two favorite exhibits are the Tigers of the Maharaja’s Temple and the Stingray Reef. After leaving there we had a few more hours before returning to our Airbnb so we went to the Nasa Johnson Space Center. If you never knew anything about space travel, this would be your university. We learned how they use solar panels in space and how astronauts convert urine into water. Afterward, We decided to go to an adult arcade that was nearby before returning to our Airbnb. This was an amazing trip despite the weather and most places we visited had a travel time of 20 minutes. So if you’re considering a baby moon, here are some tips based on my experience:

  1. Plan and have backup options in case of unexpected changes in weather or circumstances.
  2. Pack essential items for comfort during travel, especially if you’re pregnant. Think neck pillows, compression socks, and any other necessities.
  3. Opt for smaller, frequent meals to accommodate changes in appetite and prevent discomfort.

I hope these insights and suggestions inspire you to plan your memorable baby moon filled with unique experiences and special moments.
